THE PROCESSIONAL Hymn - #25 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty

Choir & Congregation Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, Holy, Holy! Merciciful and mighty! God in three persons, blessed Trinity!
The Invocation O Almighty God, unto whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of Thy Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love Thee and worthily magnify Thy Holy Name; Through Christ Jesus, our Lord. AMEN.
Choir & Congregation Holy, Holy, Holy! All the saints adore Thee, Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee! Which wert, and art, and ever more shall be, AMEN.

The Doxology

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. . . . Praise Him all creatures here below.
Praise Him above ye heavenly host. . . . Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. AMEN.

The Call to Worship

Minister: I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the House of the Lord. Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem!
People: For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of the wicked.
Minister: Because of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek thy good.
People: Those that be planted in the house of the Lord, shall flourish in the courts of our God.
Minister: Blessed are they that dwell in Thy house, Lord I have loved thy habitation; the place where thy honor dwelleth.
People: For the Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silent before Him.
Minister: Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.
People: O sing unto the Lord a new song; for He has done marvelous things. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth and sing praises.

The Scripture Reading(s)

Jesus, The Teachings

Gospel: Mark 13:1-8 [NLT]

OT: Daniel 12:1-13

1 As Jesus was leaving the Temple that day, one of his disciples said, “Teacher, look at these tremendous buildings! Look at the massive stones in the walls!”

2 Jesus replied, “These magnificent buildings will be so completely demolished that not one stone will be left on top of another.”

3 Later, Jesus sat on the slopes of the Mount of Olives across the valley from the Temple. Peter, James, John, and Andrew came to him privately and asked him, “When will all this take place? And will there be any sign ahead of time to show us when all this will be fulfilled?”

5 Jesus replied, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, because many will come in my name, claiming to be the Messiah. They will lead many astray. And wars will break out near and far, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must come, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nations and kingdoms will proclaim war against each other, and there will be earthquakes in many parts of the world, and famines. But all this will be only the beginning of the horrors to come.

The Decalogue

Preface to the Decalogue From all that dwell below the skies; Let the Creator's praise arise;
Let the Redeemer's name be sung, Through Every land by every tongue.
Summary Hear what Christ our Savior saith, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. "
Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, World without end. Amen.
